The Pastor's Letter

August Memory Verse

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

How do I become a Christian?

We believe that whatever God wants for us can be found in the Bible. Requirements for salvation and membership to our church are identical to those of the original church as described in the New Testament.

FAITH Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son who died on the cross and rose from the tomb to save you from your sins and give you eternal life. Romans 3:23, 6:23; John 3:16; Mark 16:16

REPENTANCE Turn away from that which displeases God to live according to His will as discovered in the Bible. Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19

CONFESSION Declare your faith in Christ openly and publicly, not just initially, but daily. Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9, 10

BAPTISM When you are immersed in water and rise again, you are crucified with Christ. He forgives all your sins – past, present, and future – and He washes them away. Then God raises you up, giving you His Holy Spirit to live a new, abundant life, pleasing to Him. Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 22:16; Romans 6:3-7; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21

FAITHFULNESS The Bible warns us about not remaining faithful to God. Regular Bible study, prayer, and attendance at worship services are essential for us to be committed followers of Christ. Hebrews 10:23-31; Revelation 3:16, 20; John 15:5, 6; 2 Timothy 2:1519 January 2005

THE INVITATION TO CHRIST

If you want to give your life to Christ, recommit your life to Him, or make Londonderry Christian your church home, we offer you an opportunity every week in our service, during the singing of the hymn following the sermon, to come to the front of the church and speak with one of our members or pastor. There, we will simply ask you to repeat a confession of faith, “I believe, with all my heart, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and I take Him as my own personal Lord and Savior.” Arrangements for baptism may be made at any time. Meanwhile, if you would like to know more about becoming a Christian, please contact the church office.
